GoS Bifrost Isblå
GoS make jaw-droppingly beautiful watches. If you had the opportunity to handle one of their timepieces at BaselWorld, then you may have failed to notice the hubbub of the great halls for just a few moments while you became entranced by the mystical properties of these unique artisan watch dials and cases. Now there is a new collection to ogle over, the GoS Bifrost Isblå.
Johan Gustafsson works damascus steel like no-one else, under his watchful eye and steady hands the ordinary metal takes on new life, inspiring watch collections which represent the essentia of Swedish landscapes and culture. Now he has devised a new process, one which brings an even higher contrast to the cases of a new collection of watches.
Bifrost is the name of the "Sacred rainbow bridge" in Norse mythology which is thought to connect the earth to the realm of the Gods, and this the first piece in the new collection evokes the blue nuances to be found in thick ice.
- And it really is an exquisite and explosive backdrop for the Gothic-esque index ring, and the playfully chubby sword-shaped hands, which along with the triskele symbol are now expected features of all GoS watches.
The 42.5mm case is made from stainless steel and high contrast damascus steel with the GoS logo engraved onto the case-side. The Soprod A10 movement inside has been finished with circular Geneva stripes and GoS have added their own symbolic damascus steel rotor, viewable through the rear sapphire.
The GoS Bifrost Isblå will be limited to 25 pieces, with further themed models in this collection to follow.
