Bremont ALT1-WT ... Now Available To Mere Mortals.

New for 2012 is the Bremont ALT-1 WT, the brand's first World Timer watch.

When a watch company describes its new watch as "wonderfully over-engineered" you just know it will be something special.... and the Bremont boys know a thing or two about engineering.  In just ten years they've built a portfolio of well designed pieces with more than a few ingenious features - trick case construction means each piece is virtually indestructible, each Bremont watch undergoes the horological equivalent of boot camp, hence the aphorism "Tested Beyond Endurance" and each piece in their collection is COSC chronometer tested and certified - these are small series, precision timekeepers created by a watch company with an unstuffy attitude to the industry and a refreshing enthusiasm and self-belief.

The Bremont ALT1-WT is a "civilian" edition of the C-17 Globemaster, a watch only available to pilots and ground crew of the indomitable C-17 Globemaster 3, a piece which displayed locations on its bezel which represented C-17 landing zones - useful and quite appropriate for military wearers, a curious quandary for those not in the "know".  The latest piece keeps all the features which made the squadron watch special - the metal dial with its globe background, the trapezoid date window inspired by the "Head Up Display" of the Globemaster and of course the build quality - the rotating "Roto-Click" inner bezel, operational via the crown at 8 o'clock has integrated ball bearings ensuring a smoothness you won't find anywhere else and a reassuring "click" as each minute is turned and the "Trip-Tick" case has been hardened to be tougher and more scratch-resistant than even the most wrist-clumsy wearer will ever need.

On the superbly finished dial the use of markers, not numerals clears dial space giving the counters plenty of room - clever design which makes this watch look more like a clean sports chronograph than a world timer.  A liberal coating of lume means everything is readable and the sapphire crystal has 9 layers of anti-reflective treatment on each side, why? -  well why not?  Inside is the BE-54AE automatic chronometer with 42 hours of power reserve.

The Bremont ALT1-WT will be available with a choice of dial colours - white, black or blue and comes presented on a calf skin leather strap with a spare NATO military strap and tools required to change it also included.
