The Girard-Perregaux Chrono Hawk Steel Bracelet

The Girard-Perregaux Chrono Hawk Steel Bracelet

The Girard-Perregaux Chrono Hawk has had an all steel make-over, it's only a cosmetic update but it is one which somehow perfects this already handsome wristwatch.

The Chrono Hawk was first unveiled last January and was the first piece in a trimmed down portfolio.  Styled to slip into the very lucrative but highly competitive men's sports watch category it has endless potential for the addition of high-tech materials and styling tweaks, but by simply replacing leather with steel the Girard-Perregaux design department have redefined it.

The new bracelet comprises of two different links with contrasting finishes, but really it is the subtleties which make this watch so special.  There is symmetry in the  dial, look at little closer and you will discover that it has a backdrop of a  repeating honeycomb pattern  which replicates that of the company's arrow-head bridge.  The dial itself is deeply recessed, falling away from a brushed bezel and a slightly sculpted case which at 44mm is spot on too.

Two dial editions of the Girard-Perregaux Chrono Hawk with steel bracelet will be available, silver or metallic blue - providing a predicament for those fortunate to be faced with the choice - both are exceptional.

My original review of the Chrono Hawk.
