Richard Mille RM 36-01 Sebastien Loeb Limited Edition

Richard Mille RM 36-01 Sebastien Loeb Limited Edition

Another Haute Horlogerie timepiece with ultra-light tourbillon and an in-built micro-mechanical G-Shock Sensor - why not?   This is the Richard Mille RM 36-01 Sebastien Loeb limited edition, a follow-up to last year's RM 036 Jean Todt, the first piece to include a mechanical G Sensor capable of indicating the number of G's experienced by its wearer.

Jean Todt became involved in last year's project as friend of Richard Mille and also through his role as FIA President using the opportunity to highlight road safety with regard to safe G-Force levels for drivers and to raise funds for global road safety campaigns and the ICM Brain and Spine Institute.  Sebastien Loeb in whose honour the new watch is named is however much more likely to put the G-Force measuring capabilities of this piece through its paces.  Last seen helping to design a Marvin Sportswatch Collection,  he is no doubt feeling tickety-boo regarding his new role as ambassador for Richard Mille.

This piece features a new dial-centre pusher for easy activation of the G-Shock Sensor with another clever addition, a bezel operated alignment which promises to aid accuracy of the device in different situations such as acceleration, under braking and when cornering.  A rounded case almost 48mm across houses the extraordinary compendium of technical indications and the equally extraordinary movement which powers it.
