The Hublot MP-06 Senna Tourbillon

Back in 2010 Johnny's feature "F1 Drivers and Their Watches" called to mind one of the most enduring images for F1 fans - the combination of the red and white colours of the Marlboro McLaren team and the vivid yellow crash helmet  of Ayrton Senna.

The commercial relationship between McLaren and TAG Heuer in the 1980's ensured that they were the watch marque most associated with Ayrton Senna during his most successful racing years.  After his death however it would be another watch brand, Hublot, who would collaborate with the late driver's family and their "Instituto Ayrton Senna" charitable foundation, releasing a limited series of watches in his honour each featuring subtle but ultimately covetable "Senna" branding.

The Hublot MP-06 Senna Tourbillon watch is the latest model in the collection, unveiled at the Hublot factory in the presence of Bruno Senna, Ayrton's nephew and son of the Institute's President, Viviane.

Face-on the tourbillon should dominate, the brake-disc styling should catch the eye and the look-see through to the mechanical inners should draw you in further still, but if like me you still reminisce and muse about what might have been if Ayrton had lived, then the first thing you'll see is the Senna "S" over at the 9 o'clock position - gets me every time.
