The Parmigiani Tonda Woodstock
Last year Parmigiani unveiled the Parmigiani Tonda Woodrock, featuring a Gibson Union Jack guitar on an exquisite wooden dial. The piece was definitive of the British music business.
Now for those with a preference for something a little more stateside, comes the Parmigiani Tonda Woodstock.
This is a unique piece and a chance for the brand to showcase their craftsmen's skills and artestry. The marquetry involves ten days of meticulous handworking - fifty individual pieces of wood are cut, dyed and assembled. The end result is loupe-worthy perfection, pristinely flat to the naked eye.
There are also subtleties to be enjoyed - the slender eyelash slim markers, and the continuation of the strings and fretboard which extend onto the bezel.
Inside is the manual-wind PF510 calibre with tourbillon and power reserve indicator and whereas the Brit model was made from platinum, the satisfyingly rounded case of the Tonda Woodstock enjoys the warmth of rose gold.
