The Romain Jerome Spacecraft

The Romain Jerome Spacecraft

Mathematics, geometry, sci-fi, futurism, watchmaking - all combine in superlative style to produce the Romain Jerome Spacecraft watch - the perfect antithesis to the DNA stuff created by RJ in the past.

Such a sculpture requires ingenious minds and the melting-pot of talent is provided by Manuel Emch, Jean-Marc Wiederrecht and Eric Giroud (-who else?).

The black PVD-coated titanium case is trapeze-shaped, angular and acuminous but - it has a profile which is facetted like a jewel.

A black rotating disc with a red indicator transferred directly onto the sapphire indicates the minutes at the top, with the hours displayed laterally on the side.  The challenges presented to its creators were many, for there are four functions at play here - lateral, linear, jumping and retrograde hours.  A spring driven carriage system was devised to drive the hour display and time-setting is via a crown at 12 o'clock.  The movement is based on an automatic ETA 2892  and has a 38 hour power reserve.

99 pieces will be produced, each presented on a polyamide mesh strap.
