Alpina Alpiner Manufacture
If you're in the market for a wristwatch which veers towards retro, then the perfect proportions and vintage feel of the new Alpina Alpiner Manufacture make it well worth a second look.
There is no doubt, Alpina are having a serious moment what with their superbly crafted watchcases, their meticulously finished in-house calibres, a portfolio which is refreshingly wholesome and of course, pocket-friendly prices which quite honestly should shame some of the larger brands out there. When it comes to revamping their historical models they do so with style, and more importantly with respect - such as with this piece, the new Alpiner Manufacture.
The silvered dial with its slight sunray finish and applied numerals is the epitome of elegance, the hour and minute hands are suitably sensible and the vivid little triangle which forms an overhang on the seconds hand is an agreeable and emblematic addition. A pointer date indication is always an eye-pleasing feature and this one has, at its edge a subtle rail track which complements the larger example at the periphery of the dial.
Through the transparent case back the Alpina AL710 movement can be admired, distinguished by its unusual black-coated rotor.
This elegant new Alpina Alpiner Manufacture model features a stainless steel case measuring 41.5mm across and adjustments are enabled via a pert little threaded crown.
