The Linde Werdelin SpidoLite II Tech.  Lighter? Stronger? Messrs. Linde and Werdelin, you had me at "Tech".

And it is - lighter and stronger that is.  Better? Of Course.  Linde Werdelin have turned design perfection into a science.  Throughout their portfolio you will find the amalgamation of cutting edge machinery with the craftsman's human touch.  This is what they do.  This is how it's done.  And they haven't produced a dud yet.

Now a new material engenders a new evolution of the already meritorious SpidoLite collection.  Termed ALW, "Alloy Linde Werdelin" (- and why not?),  it has been used to make the inner case, the outer case is made from carbon and the case is topped with a ceramic bezel.

Case construction complexity is a brand speciality.  The stripping-back of metal to its bare minimum, to the point where strength and rigidity are at their optimum is a challenge which LW partake of with relish.

The design elements of the SpidoLite II which we know and covet remain,  and there is much to admire - the stencil-like labyrinth, the 3-D aspect, the slants, the slopes and the unexpected forms.  It is a highly modernistic and desirable collection now, and a cult classic of the future.

Last year's superb hat-trick of SpidoLite II Titanium models affirmed LW's commitment to this collection and their use of vivid colours combined with trick styling raised a hoopla in the media and quite rightly so.  As visually dramatic as it is technically accomplished, the use of an aerospace industry material utilised in watchcase construction for the first time is a natural progression for the SpidoLite II collection and one which compliments it perfectly.

The Linde Werdelin SpidoLite II Tech will be available in two editions.  Tech Green - not as much of a poke in the eye as the Titanium Red edition, but animated all the same, and the Tech Gold - despite their technical inners, this brand reassuringly do not shun the richness of this noble metal in the make-up of their watches and its inclusion always provides a superb contrast.

Each of the SpidoLite II Tech editions come presented on a calf skin strap with matching stitching and each will be limited to just 75 pieces - shame, shame, clever, clever.
