The Chopard/Mille Miglia Coupling Becomes A Threesome .... Enter Zagato.

Just unveiled, the Chopard Mille Miglia Zagato Chronograph welcomes a new collaboration to the collection, one which inspires two new limited edition watches.

Chopard have been sponsor of the Mille Miglia event since 1998, and it is a most authentic partnership.  Part of its charm is the fact that both of Chopard's main men are unashamedly smitten by classic cars and think nothing of flinging their prized vintage automobiles around some of the world's most beautiful country lanes under race conditions.

When it comes to translating this lovely dalliance  into watch design, Chopard are entirely respectful and the use of branding is low-key.  The collection is denoted for its  subtle design details  and each edition is not only handsome, but is highly usable and wearable too.  Thankfully the inclusion of Zagato, makers and designers of beautiful car bodies, does not upset the equipiose of the alliance - all is well.

Two new models have been created, each measuring 42.5mm across.  The DLC steel case edition contrasts superbly with vivid details on the dial and strap stitching, while the rose gold bezel edition adds just a little more drama with a striking bezel insert.  Both models have a dial background which has been created by repeating the letter "Z" - I know, it shouldn't work but it looks superb - and it gives the darkened counters a 3D appearance.
