Master Bladesmith Johan Gustafsson and Master Watchmaker Patrik Sjögren met in 2007 and, with shared enthusiasm began to combine their skills.  The name given to their watchmaking company is GoS.  The end product of this melting pot of Scandinavian talent is a collection of timepieces which are striking, adventurous and beautiful - true products of Sweden, each with unique characteristics.

GoS watches use in their construction Damascus Steel, stark and dramatic - through the ages the bladesmith's friend.  The perfect material for weaponry also lends itself to watchmaking and using traditional handforging techniques Johan produces patterns which convey Patrik's designs which in turn are inspired by the essentia of Swedish landscapes and culture.

The Nordic Seasons Collection from GoS uses both steel and damascus steel in its model's 44mm watch cases, each with a superb combination of polished and unpolished finishing.  On the case side is a large but nicely tucked-in crown and the engraved GoS logo, and a broad bezel showcases the unique patterns.  Each piece features a handforged damascus steel dial with gold blade-shaped hands and, at the dial edge a handworked index ring which is almost Gothic in style.  Also handfinished and at 6 o'clock is the GoS motif - shuriken or watchmakers tool?  - I know not, but it is nonetheless supremely effective.

This is a seasonal collection, so naturally four designs will be produced - each with a nature-inspired dial and each with gold hands and index ring.  Summer features a wildflower pattern and 18 kt gold dial additions, Autumn features woodgrained patterns and white gold for the hands and index ring.  The pieces are powered by the handfinished GoS modified 6498 calibre, and there is a very special option - that of a movement with a handforged damascus steel 3/4 bridge.
