Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph 2016
Following a complete enhancement, the all-new Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph for 2016 now has the added versatility of easy-change straps and bracelets.
Vacheron Constantin do not do things haphazardly, when they decide to re-vamp a collection it is a comprehensive overhaul and not simply a nip and a tuck. This year their Overseas collection took centre stage within their portfolio, with new dials, re-designed cases and newly developed movements. Even though the whole Overseas family has been relaunched, it is easy for me to cherry pick among them - the Overseas Chronograph was, is and probably will always be my favourite among this particular collection.

As standard, each model is quality-approved by the Hallmark of Geneva for its aesthetics and its mechanics, and the beautiful finishing of the new Calibre 5200 which took five years to develop, is particularly pleasing on the eye when viewed through this model's sapphire caseback.
The 22kt gold rotor, which has been engraved with the "Wind Rose" - symbolic with generations of travellers - is a standout feature, but look a little closer and the brand's Maltese Cross symbol can be glimpsed on the chronograph's column-wheel mechanism. Built-in anti-magnetic protection and shock resistance ensure accuracy, regardless of what you put this elegant sporty timer through during your daily pursuits.
Dial-side, these models are as neatly laid out as can be, with subtle finishing and clear indications. Options available are a pristine silver-toned edition, or a most excellent blue lacquered version, but the feather in the cap for Vacheron Constantin's design department is a new ingenious and fool-proof interchangeability device for their straps and bracelets.
In addition to the steel bracelet, known and loved for its superlative finishing and its repeating Maltese Cross links, also in the box will be an alligator strap and a rubber strap. No tools will be required, enabling a simple change-over which will offer an entirely different look and feel for this handsome timepiece..... No NATO? Dearie me no! This is a Vacheron Constantin after all.
