Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Tourbillon Chronograph
VACHERON CONSTANTIN TRADITIONNELLE TOURBILLON CHRONOGRAPH
Affirming the classic styling and Haute Horlogerie traditions of their acclaimed Traditionnelle Collection, the new Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Tourbillon Chronograph is wonderfully technical and aesthetically perfect.
New Vacheron Constantin models are always greeted with hushed reverence because no other Manufacture manages to pull-off a combination of quiet beauty and masterful watchmaking quite like them. Eagerly anticipated by collectors and aficionados alike, their 2020 models are loupe-worthy additions and this Traditionnelle Tourbillon Chronograph will not disappoint.
Sized at 42.5mm, the model carries 18ct. pink gold case with a trim bezel and fine fluting where the case middle meets the caseback. The mono-pusher arrangement for the chronograph means that the smooth rounded profile is as uninterrupted as possible.
Dominating the dial, the tourbillon with its emblematic “Maltese Cross” carriage is unusually positioned at the 12 o’clock location, and is viewable through a generous opening. The 45-minute register for the chronograph and the power reserve indication at 3 and 6 o’clock are recessed slightly, and while their proportions promote legibility, there is enough empty dial space to enjoy the beautiful silvered opaline finish.
A sapphire caseback reveals the immaculate finishing of the in-house Calibre 3200 movement which beats at a leisurely 18,000vph. Purists will no doubt look beyond the circular graining, chamfering and the flawless Côtes de Genève decoration and instead become immersed in the pleasure of the traditional arrangement of the horizontal clutch and column-wheel mechanism of the chronograph. Featuring an innovative “all-or-nothing” system, which prevents activation of the chronograph if the pusher is not activated with the required pressure, this Manufacture movement had its debut in the cushion-shaped Harmony Tourbillon Chronograph in 2015.
The Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Tourbillon Chronograph is presented on a brown alligator leather strap with an 18ct. pink gold folding clasp.
