Celebrating its Swiss heritage with a brand new model, the Graham Chronofighter Grand Vintage Swiss Edition combines robust styling with delicate artwork.

So often in design terms, opposing aesthetics work surprisingly well and such is the case with Graham’s study and wholly manly Chronofighter case-form, which is entirely at home when paired with an artistic dial.

Building on the success of their “Nose Art” dials, the brand have recently unveiled striking animal themed pieces to add to the Chronofighter collection. The Graham Chronofighter Grand Vintage Swiss Edition brings a new and highly effective aesthetic to the portfolio, with a dial which evokes the delicate lace-work appearance of the traditional Swiss “Poya” technique of paper-cutting.

Using an open worked technique, the dial is made from cow’s horn, with a black steel PVD plate of 0.1mm thickness.  Depicting a rural scene, it recalls the seasonal tradition of the cow herd being taken up to the Swiss mountain pastures where they happily remain all summer until the last weekend in September.

Adhering to the theme, the minute scale features edelweiss flowers and among the wildlife, flora and fauna, there is even a pair of miniature Swiss flags held aloft by the locals in celebration.

While the artwork has an intricate character, this watch is still very much a Chronofighter at heart.  Sized at 47mm across and with the synonymous trigger-style thumb lever mechanism, it will have an instantly recognisable and prominent presence upon the wrist. 

The model is powered by the Calibre G1747, automatic chronograph movement which has a power reserve of 48hours.  The calibre can be viewed through the sapphire caseback which also bears an engraving of the limited edition number of each piece in this series.

The Graham Chronofighter Grand Vintage Swiss Edition model has a brown and white cowhide leather strap and comes presented in a watch box which replicates the “Poya” design of the dial.
